Telemetrics introduces TeleScope Robotic Jib
- 02 June, 2025
Telemetrics Re-Imagines The Traditional Production Jib With TeleScope...
USA: Telemetrics, an innovator in robotic camera control, has introduced a robotic jib system called
the TeleScope, which attracted a lot of attention and was recognized with a Best Of Show Award at
the recent NAB convention.
TeleScope expands upon the proven safety and operational benefits of the OmniGlide (Robotic Roving Pedestal) while redefining the jib in traditional production workflows.
Designed to work with virtually any professional camera on the market, the new TeleScope robotic jib
can capture shots that would be difficult or impossible to get with other equipment, such as high
overhead shots, long sweeping moves, or shots low to the ground.
The TeleScope offers virtually unrestricted movement, with a vertical range of motion that goes from
275 mm high (1 foot) to 2,215 mm (approx. 7.5 feet), depending upon the specific camera model.
Rather than move it manually, the operator sits at a Telemetrics RCCP-2A control panel to direct
the jib to move vertically, horizontally, or in an arc.
It is also loaded with dozens of Time Of Flight safety sensors that completely cover the jib's extension arm and OmniGlide base to keep the crew safe and avoid unwanted collisions with set pieces. This jib system has safety and collision avoidance designed into the core product.
"When designing the TeleScope, safety had a big factor in the design," said Michael Cuomo, Vice President of Telemetrics. "Smooth and quiet robotics were part of the initial development, but the product wasn't complete until it could be safely operated remotely."
With a fully featured OmniGlide base for optimal movement and available in three sizes (XL, L, Small)
to fit different studios, the new TeleScope Jib can carry a payload of a camera, lens and even a small teleprompter. The unique jib extends over 4 feet in its standard configuration and it can operate at
a linear speed of 11 in/second.
The TeleScope offers virtually unrestricted movement, with a vertical range of motion that goes from
1 foot off the ground to over 7.5 feet (in the standard configuration). Compatible with the RCCP-2A
STS system, the operator has full control and a virtualized view of the robotic jib in Studio View.
The new Telemetrics TeleScope is available for shipping now and can also be retrofitted onto
any OmniGlide currently in use.
