ESP: La Casa Encendida, the social and cultural centre of the Fundación Montemadrid (Madrid, Spain), is an open and dynamic space open to all audiences, where some of the most avant-garde artistic expressions coexist with educational activities, reflection and debate around its four areas of action: Culture, solidarity, environment and education.

Through its radio station, it aims to explore the radio format from an artistic perspective. It has programmes of current production and a selection of radio capsules for all kind of audiences.

The technical management of La Casa Encendida decided to renovate their radio studios after more than 15 years of use, and finally opted for AEQ technology, installing one AEQ Forum IP Split digital audio console as the center of the system and the AudioPlus automation system.

"We opted for a Forum Split mixer with a Dante card for AoIP interconnectivity, which allowed us to use the desk on an iMac with ProTools, as well as on the PC with AEQ automation and playout software. The result was a very versatile radio studio that allows us to produce both fake live shows, as well as recording vocals for more elaborate productions," said Ángel Aranda, Coordinator of La Casa Encendida Radio.

AEQ Forum IP Split is an audio mixer designed for ONAIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the basic features necessary in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut-off, cough cut-off, fader start, signaling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, management of external communications, intercommunication, etc.

With a modular design and small size, it adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, booth-control, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc. Simplicity and control power are combined in the AEQ Forum IP console to cover both the most basic operating needs and the advanced ones. The Forum IP Split version comes with the FR Core modular engine in 3 rack units. It can be made up of up to 6 quadruple fader modules and a control and monitoring unit.

They can be equipped with AoIP multi-channel input and output cards compatible with the AES67 protocol through DANTE™ technology. Through this connectivity, signals can be collected and delivered to other consoles, routers, and other input and output terminal equipment from more than 350 different manufacturers. Connectivity can also be chosen to be MADI, and it can be equipped with up to two internal digital telephone hybrids.
