Radio Island 92 goes all digital with AEQ
- 18 July, 2024
ESP: Island 92 is a radio station located in St. Martin in the Caribbean and belongs to the Caribbean Broadcasting Network. It was off the air for a period of time because of the fire in District 721,
the station suffered water and heat damage to its antennas and data centre.
Fortunately, the station is now fully operational and is back with its usual line-up of music
and entertainment programmes.
The company's technical management recently upgraded all its equipment to the digital environment, putting at the heart of the system: an AEQ Forum IP Split console for the ON-AIR studio and
an AEQ Capitol IP console for the production studio.
AEQ Forum IP Split is a mixing console designed for ON-AIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the
basic features necessary in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut, cough cut, faderstart, signalling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, management of external communications, intercommunication, etc. With its modular design and small size, it adapts perfectly
to different scenarios: self-control, control-locutory, television production controls, sound production,
mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc.
AEQ Capitol IP is an 8-channel fixed configuration Digital Audio mixing console. In Capitol IP the implementation of IP connectivity is based on a single module of 16 input and 16 output channels, incorporated in its core. One of the main qualities of AEQ Capitol IP is the wide input capacity available: 4 mic/line,
12 analogue, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional telephone lines, and optional digital multichannel audio links; 16 AoIP channels over two ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels input over optical fibre.
The system is complemented by the Systel IP conference system and the Netbox 32 AD MX interface for simultaneous transmission.
Visit AEQ at IBC2024, Stand #8.C55, 13-16 September, at the RAI Amsterdam.
