- 05 September, 2022
The latest-generation PlayBox Neo Suite graphic user interface.
BGR: PlayBox Neo will demonstrate the latest refinements to its range of broadcast playout and channel branding solutions on stand 8.C74 at IBC2022, Amsterdam, September 9th-12th.
"Our development team has been working hard to maintain PlayBox Neo's leadership in the broadcast media playout sector," comments CEO Pavlin Rahnev. "We will be demonstrating six new or substantially enhanced products, all designed to maximize operational efficiency for media organizations of every size from single online thematic channels up to globally active multi-channel broadcast networks."
NEW: Media Gateway multiformat routing and distribution processor
Making its first ever show appearance, Media Gateway allows the reception, transmission and conversion of a wide range of broadcast signals to simplify the everyday tasks of content delivery and distribution. The entire process of playout routing and decoding can be handled within a single workflow, removing the need for third-party signal processors, saving on cost and freeing space in equipment bays. A software solution, based on the PlayBox Neo Suite platform, Media Gateway can be installed locally or in the cloud. Signals may be sourced from and converted to SDI, NDI, SRT, UDP or RTP. Media Gateway also has a Screen input which allows video and audio content to be grabbed from a desktop and delivered as live feeds.
IBC DEBUT: Capture Suite ingest processor
Capture Suite is designed to maximize the efficiency of broadcast content ingest. Multiple ingest channels can be managed across multiple servers. Functions such as input selection, ingest presets, file-naming rules, assignments and auto-transfer can be performed quickly and easily from a single graphic interface. Features include a multiviewer with black-frame and frozen-frame alarms plus loudness audio level monitoring as well as manual, scheduled and compliance ingest modes with automated input switching. Content can be now edited before the completion of ingest. MXF and TS files are available for immediate playout via AirBox Neo-20 automation without having to wait for the ingest process to complete.

ENHANCED: AirBox Neo-20 playout server
AirBox Neo-20 is a complete server-based television channel branding and playout system designed for onsite or IP-linked offsite operation. Available in 3U multi-channel and 1U single-channel versions, it allows media files of various kinds to be combined into a single transmission playlist. Playlists can be scheduled weeks in advance for automated transmission. Files can be trimmed, edited or repositioned at any time prior to being aired without losing the freedom to transmit live. Gaps and time overlaps are automatically corrected to ensure continuous operation even when events with conflicting times are present. Special protection is provided to ensure uninterrupted operation where content files or even entire schedules are missing or misplaced. Among 12 enhancements are a new integrated input/output architecture shared with Capture Suite, extended live input capabilities and a browser-based multiviewer with lost-signal and frozen-signal alarms.
ENHANCED: ProductionAirBox Neo-20
ProductionAirBox Neo-20 provides broadcast-quality content playout for news, live shows, screens and video walls feeding, live productions and wherever video/audio content have to be displayed. Playlists can be modified on the fly without disrupting the running session. Each server supports up to four channels with separate playlist and control. New enhancements include advanced Blackmagic DeckLink enumeration.
ENHANCED: Multi Playout Manager
Multi Playout Manager allows multiple AirBox Neo-20 channels to be operated via IP from any network-connected location. Latest enhancements include an updated user interface and integrated playout preview. The revised UI matches those across the entire PlayBox Neo series. Also added are a future-playlist editor, support for custom metadata from AirBox Neo-20, plus a library module for fast access to MAM. Enhancements include a latest-generation user interface, a preview display for controlling AirBox Neo-20 and a new proxy generator with thumbnails creation.
ENHANCED: TitleBox Neo-20 graphics creation and editing module
TitleBox Neo-20 allows a practically unlimited number graphic overlays to be created and manipulated during on-air. Capabilities include text selection with transitions, the creation of horizontal crawling text, vertically rolling credits and messages, still and animated logo graphics, clocks and countdowns, coming-up-next banners and the display of data coming in real time from sources such as live RSS feeds and social media. Latest enhancements include live video sourcing from SDI or streaming files.
