FooEngine Integrates OOONA’s Convert API

ISL: OOONA, a global provider of professional management and production tools for the media localization industry, has announced that UK-based start-up FooEngine has integrated the OOONA Convert API into its media processing platform.

FooEngine is a media logistics company that provides cloud-based audio/video processing and digital packaging, tailored for the media and entertainment industry.

“We pride ourselves in offering an intuitive, scalable and cost-effective platform that can satisfy all our clients’ requirements,” says Arran Corbett, co-founder and CTO of FooEngine

“With the ever-increasing streaming market, content owners are distributing assets into more and more territories. More often than not, this means that some kind of localization will be required, with a large percentage of platforms opting for subtitling rather than audio dubs.

“We were already users of OOONA’s Create Pro application and were looking for an efficient way to automate format conversions alongside existing manual workflows. OOONA’s Convert API is the perfect complement to our orchestration pipeline as it supports over 50 subtitle and caption file formats and is continually updated in response to market needs. Having access to identical export templates from both a manual and automated perspective ensures consistency across varying workflows.”

“The Foo team needed a complete and fast cloud solution for file format conversions,” adds OOONA co-founder and CEO Wayne Garb.

“We are pleased to be working with this forward-looking company that helps content owners streamline workflows and expand to new territories quickly.”

FooEngine is a UK based video media logistics company, founded in April 2020 and focusing on the entertainment industry for media processing. Ben Smith, Arran Corbett and Craig Russill-Roy saw a gap in the market to offer a cloud-based media processing platform for content creators and streaming services. With decades of post-production, broadcast and cloud development experience, Arran, Ben, and Craig had a clear goal to create a scalable, easy to use and cost-effective platform that allows customers to store, process and deliver content with metadata to multiple destinations.
