UK: ExCeL London, based in the heart of East London’s dockland, is getting ready to support the Formula E World Championship. The world's first indoor/outdoor circuit, the unique track will weave its way inside and outside of the ExCeL on 30-31 July.

With fast-paced action - 22 drivers will be battling it out with top speeds of 174 mph - broadcasters of the sporting event need to ensure their coverage will be trouble free. Through the use of ViaLite's fiber optic modules, in the backbone of the fiber transmission to the production studios and OB trucks, the performance and reliability of both the video and audio transmissions will be maintained.

The low power consumption and small form factor of the ViaLite Green OEM broadcast module makes it the ideal choice for integrating into indoor and outdoor equipment at high speed sporting events, such as the Formula E World Championship. It has exceptionally low power usage at just Tx - 1.1W and Rx - 0.8W; with this being particularly important within the broadcast sector where wireless mics and cameras are typically battery-powered. Through consuming less power, broadcasters can record footage for longer periods without interruption.

ViaLite Business Development Manager, Amair Khan, commented: “High speed event broadcasting is always challenging. Having wireless camera systems linked to the fiber backbone of transmission equipment is necessary to allow live production to take place instantaneously at these types of events.

"Our well known Green OEM fiber links, which are used extensively in the wireless camera industry, allow our broadcast customers to maintain quality transmissions throughout the event."
