UK: AE Live, a leading global provider of graphics and data solutions, has appointed Andrew Olley as Creative Director of the UK branch of the company’s Ignite agency. He will be responsible for identifying new branding and sponsorship opportunities and deploying the company’s deep creative resources on a larger global scale.

Olley joins the company during a time of rapid growth and international expansion. AE Live acquired Ignite, the creative engine serving the world’s biggest broadcast networks and live sporting events, in 2020, and has continually integrated the brand as a global in-house creative agency within the AE Live group in key worldwide regions. Now, establishing UK Ignite headquarters under Olley’s direction gives the company a strategic position for expanding its creative presence across Europe and globally.

“Adding the Ignite brand has done more than simply accelerate our international growth,” said Nick Baily, CEO of AE Live. “It has provided a catalyst for strengthening our internal resources, giving us expanded capabilities to bid for and deliver re-brands, opening titles and on-screen design packages for clients, and also providing innovative graphics systems for established local sports. Andrew is the perfect fit for leading our creative business direction in the European market.”

AE Live’s plans for continually broadening its Ignite creative arm include using their existing offices in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as a platform for expanding into southeast Asian markets and establishing a presence in the United States.

In his new role, Olley will draw on his more than 20 years of experience as an award-winning creative director, art director, and designer in the broadcast industry. He began his career in London at the renowned BDA Creative agency, moving on to create dozens of channel brands, refreshes and relaunches for clients including Disney, Virgin Media, ESPN, Sky Sports Italia, FX, ITV, Global TV Canada and GLORY Kickboxing.

He provided art direction for the winning pitch for World Table Tennis (for Daryl Goodrich/IMG) and was a key collaborator on content for the Qatar Olympic Museum and the R&A British Open Golf Centenary Event at Royal St Andrews.

“This is an exciting time in the broadcast, media and sports industries,” said Olley. “Changing audience behaviours and emerging platforms are creating new opportunities for dynamic live graphics, branding and sponsorship experiences. With the combined depth and expertise of the global AE Live and Ignite brands, the possibilities for creative innovation are limitless.”
