The Contributing Editors discussed at length the merits of the many items that they
had nominated and deciding on the final winners from the huge number of products on show at
NAB was a drawn out process! Our congratulations to the winners...
Steven Preston, Editor
Contributing Editor, Jim Evans has been writing about the music and pro audio industries for longer than he cares (or can - Ed) remember. Prior to becoming the first editor of Pro Sound News Europe, he was on the staff of Record Mirror and, later news editor of Music Week. Freelance since the mid-eighties, he continues to contribute to a number of leading pro audio periodicals. He is also online news editor for Lighting & Sound International.
Contributing Editor, Kevin Hilton trained in radio journalism and worked as a reporter, technical operator, producer and presenter before moving into magazines. Since 1987, he has covered audio and general broadcast technology, working on a number of publications before going freelance in 1993. He continues to contribute to leading professional broadcast periodicals.
Contributing Editor, David Kirk joined the editorial staff of Hi-Fi News in the 1960s, becoming editor of the monthly magazine Tape Recorder which he developed into Studio Sound. In 1974 he founded Video, developing this into Broadcast Systems Engineering. He edited International Broadcast Engineer 1986-1999 before founding Stylus Media Consultants which specialises in broadcast-related technical writing and publicity.
Contributing Editor, Adrian Pennington is a journalist and editor with over 15 years' experience covering the production, business, and technology of film and TV. He is managing editor of The IBC Daily, editor of The IBC Executive and author of the Focal Press book 'Exploring 3D'.
Contributing Editor, Simon Perkins, a veteran of the technology scene, has reported and penned features for many leading technology magazines over the years, including some sadly long defunct and now forgotten computer and video technology titles. He currently collects cutting-edge gadgets and reads the instruction manuals from cover to cover!
Contributing Editor, Kieron Seth has been a valued voice in the industry for over 15 years. Working as television conference producer, video technology event director, new media marketing consultant, broadcast journalist and independent writer, his experience with the production chain is extensive. This has given him a real insight into today's technology workflows, commercial realities and the creative ambitions of the industry.
